He highlights many examples of journalistic chicanery ranging from the Washington press corps negating reports of President Trump's good health to singling out the president as the sole culprit in the recent budgetary standstill with Congress. For decades, people were suspicious of the leniency and biases of reporters. Quite often, Democratic presidents, their compatriots in Congress and liberal causes seemed to come out always looking better in news reports than their Republican and conservative adversaries. Mr. Bruno explains away any coincidence in justifying our suspicions. The Trump presidency has spotlighted the outright prejudices of reporters against Republicans. Page after page in this well-written book highlights the intentional efforts by the media to taint and malign President Trump. The cause is to attack Republicans and those on the political Right. Mr. Bruno goes beyond Washington and explores the biases of entertainment. He shares considerable details about the Jussie Smollet case.
