My daughter is really into touch and feel books and this particular one is one of the better ones. What I like most about this book is that there is something to touch on EACH page, not just some like other books have. The colors and photos are bright and fun to look at and each page teaches colors, counting, and has other animals to identify as well. I also like that there are more pages than the average touch and feel books so you really get your money's worth too! This is a super cute book to read and your baby or toddler will love discovering new textures to touch. My daughter loves this book and it's a must have for every baby and toddler's book collection. I HIGHLY recommend the purchase of this book for your child or as a gift as well!

We have a couple of these types of books and one of the things I like about this book is that each page has some kind of texture for the baby to feel. There are several soft patches of fur to pet and lots of cute pictures of rabbits. We had a bunny-themed first birthday party for our daughter and this was one of our gifts to her. She really enjoys it and it's one of her go-to books whenever she's choosing books to look at.

Purchased this book for my 6 month old granddaughter. She loves touching the realistic fur, hearing the leaves crinkling and feeling all the other textures of the book. It's also durable for when the little one wants to chew on the book. Not disappointed

Every time I open this book I notice another detail that is textured. My 6 month old loves running his little fingers through the fur. Additionaly, the cover is great! it is thick and covered with a vinyl type material, which is awesome because he is able to put it in his mouth without it being destroyed after just a couple of explorational chew sessions. So far it appears to be a real sturdy book, aside from being read and chewed on it has been used as a banging toy against the table and floor and my son has done lots of tugging on it; there are still no signs of wear.

Such a sweet little book. It's very sturdy and our twins love to turn the pages and feel the bunnies. There's not a lot to it, but it's great for babies.

It's a wonderful book, if this is ur interest. For me, i liked "The Fantasy Illustrator's Technique Book," it had more info that i needed for my art purposes.

Yet another "How to Draw an Owl" book, meaning step 1 draw an oval, step two draw the rest of the owl. There are a few good exercises in the beginning of the book, then it forgets that it's teaching and just starts showcasing artists' sweeping, detailed landscapes without any instruction. The rest of the book wastes space/adds pages by talking about different mediums. So if you don't know what watercolors or pencils are, yet have a gift from god for designing rich, detailed landscapes, this is the book for you.

I've given this book a 4 out of 5 not because I'm not entirely satisfied with it but because it's not exactly a "must have" book. It helps with, pretty much, what the title says, "Drawing and Painting Landscapes and Cityscapes". The book doesn't go in depth to teaching you step by step and stroke by stroke how to draw landscapes and cityscapes but what it does do I found helpful and excellent.The book begins in touching on basics art basics such as colour, moods, perspective, size, space, etc. Obviously it won't go in depth with these things because that's not the type of book it is nor is it this book's intention. Then, the book spends a good set of pages discussing different elements like weather, snow, trees, whatever. It points out things that some people often take for granted. After this section, the book discusses main aspects of 12 different types of land/city scapes. This, I found extremely helpful as it gives you an idea of how to use reference images and photos. After all, environment design and landscape/cityscape drawing is very much a reference-based practice. Environment designers usually have a set of 10 to 20 photos around their actual canvas and then pick out features they find helpful in some, if not all, of those photos.I bought this book wanting hints and tips regarding landscape design. What I got was a little more. I was expecting to use this book simply for ideas. What I got was a touch up on 12 different types of landscapes, cityscapes, icescapes, seascapes, and what to look out for in each. It definitely gets your mind and vision working together so that your environment works out as a whole picture rather than having separate aspects of your environment contradicting each other. One example is having a storm in the background with a plain standing tree on a hill. The remark made is that the tree should be leaning with the storm [in that example it was leaning to the right]. This is something we take for granted. Surely, a storm will effect everything in its way. The problem is, when some artists draw environments, they often separate the environment and, although it may look fine at first glance, if one was to study the artwork it would become apparent that there are some crucial laws of motion that were disregarded by the artist. Before long, the environment becomes a pain to the trained eye.This books points out these sorts of things and more. If you're wanting to do environment design and just paint landscapes on any medium [drawings, paintings, digital, etc], I recommend this book. It's not a must have but definitely worth mentioning and having a look at. I bought it and don't regret it at all. In fact, I'm glad I bought it.

I've used this reference over and over as I develop the illustrations for my next children's novel. Clear, concise details and fabulous photography combine to create a must-have tool for fantasy artists, and a luscious reference book for art enthusiasts.

This book is amazing. It shows a lot of illustrations, tecniques, styles, but most of all it teaches how to do it very well. I keep this one close although it's for beginners. It makes a great gift for fantasy lovers who are now starting to learn how to draw and create worlds. This book inspires me to create more worlds.

A wonderful 'just for fun' book chockfull of fun ideas and how-to's.

This book gives an overview o designing fantasy backgrounds. I myself have years and years of drawing and painting experience and I cannot even begin to do the quality of drawings explained in this book. This is really difficult work, you have to be taking college art courses (I'm studying at the Academy of Art University) and it will take me years to get to do this kind of work, but when I look at these pictures I know I will NEVER give up! For inspiration, this is ABSOLUTELY THE BEST. It is the most beautiful inspiring delicious book to have on your desk. You will look at the pictures over and over and over! So, good luck to everyone who aspires to be like Rob Alexander (the author)!

This is a really great book, but it's not for beginners. It doesn't have step by step picture for you to follow along with. It's a nice book, but it didn't help me learn how to draw the cool landscape in it.

It was a very helpful book for me when my mother lived with me.

I appreciate the good content in this book, but it is frustrating to read as there is no table of contents. The Vulnerability Index looks like it would be very helpful, but it is in such tiny print that I can't read it, and I can't make the font bigger. I am currently trying to figure out how to print it.If Amazon fixes these problems I'd be happy to review the book on its content. Until then, my suggestion is to get the print copy.

The book was very helpful to my wife as she tries to care for her parents. She would recommend it for anyone dealing with the challenges of caring for aging parents.

I enjoyed this book as it is so practical. If relates real life case histories which are down-to-earth. These are true and so easy to relate to. Good advice is provided in coping with the stress of the aging parent, in communication with the social worker, and in directing caring children to resource use in the community.At the end of the day, we want the best for our parents. This guide on straight talk about aging in the family may help us achieve that end, perhaps understand what and why we are making decisions, while providing useful information on conditions which are common and characteristic in the elderly. A classic. I give my copy away frequently, so this is a replacement for my own library. I own it digitally and in print form now. Its the sort of book I like to re-read now and then to refresh my attitude about helping and getting involved in the world.

Ram Dass is a wonderfull Personal Awareness Treasure..I had the pleasure of recommending "How can I Help" as a text for many years while I taught Inter and Interpersonal skills to many classes of people preparing for Rehab Counseling.and Special Education professions.A student recommended it to me more than twenty years ago.

Wonderful book. I had to read this for a grad class and this is the a book that I genuinely enjoy reading. Great insights with powerful stores.

My wife and I are both first person volunteers (Red Cross and St. Vincent de Paul Society) and we both have full time jobs. I thought that we know about helping until I read this book.Basically, it starts with a focus on knowing and understanding yourself, tossing in a little mediation practice for good measure. If you are helping to feel better about yourself, you are not really helping.Along the way there are, as other reviewers have said, inspirational stories that (well) inspire. It is a great balance of discussion and insight with stories about service.When I got to the section on burn-out, I presumed that I know the answers. I have survive burnout and read several really good books on the subject. Relax, step back, etc. This book has an entirely different perspective that I think is more useful than the other books.If you want to help people, and I presume if you are reading this book that you do, then you should consider reading this book. Thanks for helping.

Great book, would recommend to any social worker entering the field

This is one of the basic books of understanding the heart of human services. I have had three copies and miore that I have passed on to people who are struggling with where they are going....it so clearly speaks to the issues which are essential in the world of service with people with needs.

Clearly written, each pages resonates with wisdom. The obstacles one faces in serving are clearly addressed, and turned in to tools to learn about ourselves. This book is a wonderful examination of the helping process, helping profession and the psychology involved in helping.I highly recommend it.

I was looking for inspiration and found it--and joy as well. Some of the passages elicited--and sometimes still elicit--a strong mystical experience. Might not be true for everyone, but it is for me. Also, this is about the sixth or seventh copy I've bought; I have given the other copies away as gifts.
