Buried on page 6 in a side note is the following paragraph: "The app [Outlook 2016] that is described and depicted in images throughout this book is a standard desktop installation of Outlook 2016 on a Windows 10 computer configured to connect to a Microsoft Exchange account." That makes it almost utterly useless for those of us utilizing it as standalone software, because most of the difficulties that arise for standalone users are not covered in this book. I would have liked to have had this stated in BOLD print in the book's description. It is nowhere to be found in the ads describing this book on Amazon's site.
I used this as a textbook in my "Outlook 2016 Essentials" class. It is a great reference guide since it has clear explanations and up-to-date screen shots. Whether you are just interested in the basics, or want to be a more effective Outlook user in a small office or corporate setting, this book will help you get to the next level.
Not the sort of book you sit down and read, but very helpful when you are learning the use of a complex software program and need to look things up.
It is not a book to read from beginning to end. It is great, whenever I have a specific point which I want to research.
As a long time user of MS products, I had taken Outlook for granted, now I get more done with less effort. A great resource.
Well organized and well written -- details down to the level if minutia. Information was helpful with far more than my needs required. It is written on a fairly high level. But all was not perfect and I removed one star for leaving out in the index what to me was extremely important and probably important to many readers -- HOW TO BACK UP OUTLOOK 2016 (a MAJOR omission ).
It was not basic enough for beginner but otherwise a good book.
I was hoping for in depth information about troubleshooting error message for .pst files. This is little more than a packaging of the help files. Very basic.
